Advanced Photofacial
| As we age, our skin reflects damage from the sun, the elements and the wear-and-tear of daily life. In response, we often seek aesthetic procedures to restore a fresh and youthful appearance. Photorejuvenation/photofacial using intense pulsed light (one of the most popular cosmetic procedures today) provides the ideal answer. Removing age spots (sun-induced freckles), most brown pigmentation and redness due to broken capillaries, these treatments can “turn back the clock?. And with no downtime, photofacial treatments are ideally suited for today’s active lifestyles. | ![]() |
In addition to these signs of photodamage and early aging, photofacial treatments improve dull complexions, uneven pigmentation and large pores, as well as red flushing skin and rosacea. Your skin will appear naturally even-toned, healthy, and younger.
While pain tolerance depends on the individual, most people tolerate photofacial treatments well, and describe the sensation as a rubber band snap to the skin. A cool gel is applied to the skin, and the skin is numbed by blowing very cold air over the gel using a Zimmer Cryo 6 skin cooling system.
This minimizes pain and thermal injury to the skin, which allows us to perform multiple passes with the photofacial treatment at each session, thus achieving better results with fewer treatments. Treatments usually take 30 to 45 minutes, and involve a series of three to five sessions done at four week intervals. Photofacial treatments can be done on the face, neck, chest, arms, hands, and most other areas of the body.

Immediately following treatment, the skin may appear flushed for a short period of time. Brown pigmented spots may appear darker, granular, and gradually come to the surface of the skin and flake off. Red or vascular lesions usually slowly fade and disappear after treatment. To help guarantee the best results, it is important to limit your exposure to the sun for several weeks before and after treatment and to use sunscreen if you are in the sun in the future. |
